From Budgets to Bucket Lists: Jill Retires

We are excited to celebrate the incredible career and retirement of Jill Black, Director of Financial Planning at Sierra View Medical Center. Jill has been a cherished member of the Sierra View since 1998 when she joined as a consultant. In 2000, she officially became an employee and has since left an indelible mark on our organization.

Jill’s contributions over the years include serving in multiple roles, from Compliance Officer to Project Manager, always embodying dedication and leadership. She was instrumental in implementing vital systems like the QMatic queuing system and the Cashless System in the Café. Her passion for fostering a positive workplace culture was evident as the Standards of Performance Team Leader from 2004 to 2006, during which she played a key role in SVMC's cultural transformation.

Jill’s exceptional work has not gone unnoticed. She has been named SVMC Leader of the Month multiple times. Her involvement in pivotal projects, including the Meditech Implementation Teams of 1999 and 2018, exemplifies her commitment to innovation and excellence.

Jill shared that the most rewarding part of her career was working with various departments and forming lifelong friendships. Though she moved to Lexington, Kentucky, in 2013, Jill continued to contribute to Sierra View as our first remote worker, proving her unwavering dedication to the team.

As Jill embarks on her retirement journey, she looks forward to expanding her hobbies, including birding, gardening, and achieving her bucket-list goal of watching football games at every NFL stadium.

Jill, thank you for your 20+ years of service, your incredible leadership, and your unwavering commitment to Sierra View Medical Center. You will be greatly missed, and we wish you all the best in this new chapter!
