October 2021 Leader of the Month: Osvaldo Batres, RN, BSN, PHN Announced
The efforts of Osvaldo Batres, RN, BSN, PHN, in our Surgery Services Department have not gone unnoticed. Throughout the pandemic, he has helped keep surgeries safe and on schedule for many patients in our community. For his hard work and dedication, our Awards & Recognition Committee surprised him with balloons and special prizes to celebrate his Leader of the Month Award for the month of October 2021.
Oz, as he is affectionately known at Sierra View, was nominated for the award by Director of Surgery Services, Christen Rios, MSN, RN, CAPA, PHN and Clinical Manager of PACU/Flex-Care and Endoscopy Veronica Gutierrez, BSN, RN, PHN. Recently, when Christen was on vacation, Oz helped the team by managing staff and working on the hospital floor as needed. “Oz made me feel comfortable and was always there to answer my questions and lend a hand,” says Veronica. She adds, “Oz is a positive role model. He has many qualities such as commitment to our facility, his passion for healthcare and ability to inspire.”
Thank you for your years of service, your amazing leadership skills and for continuing to exhibit our values of Collaboration, Compassion, Accountability, Integrity, and Respect!
The SVMC Awards and Recognition Committee (ARC) helps recognize employees who go above and beyond for our patients and teams. In doing so, they coordinate a surprise appointment during which the recipient is surprised by a warm welcome often including leadership.
