FAQs: Porterville's Vaccine Roundup
News
Our first Vaccine Roundup of the year is fast approaching! This is a kind reminder to please pre-register yourself, if possible, by making an appointment ahead of time! Appointments are still available https://myturn.ca.gov/ or by phone: CA COVID-19 Hotline at 1-833-422-4255 (Monday – Friday, 8 a.m. – 8 p.m; Saturday – Sunday, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.).
We've received questions and we have answers for you!
FAQ
• Are there separate lines for those with appointments and those without them?
Yes. We appreciate the patience our community members continue to show us during busy times of day at the vax clinic.
• Does making an appointment mean that I will get in at the exact time of my appointment?
No. Currently, your appointment will help you move through the appointments line faster because it allows our teams to check you in faster.
• Does it take longer to get your vaccination as a walk-in?
Yes, but don't let that stop you. We encourage appointments but welcome walk-ins! The reason it takes longer to register walk-ins is that our teams manually input a lot of detailed information upon your arrival.
• What are the clinic hours?
The SVMC-Imperial Ambulance Community Vaccination Clinic operates Thursdays - Saturdays, 9 a.m. - 6 p.m. On days of event, we ask people who come in as walk-ins to please show up no later than 5 p.m.
• Are $100 Gift Cards being given out at this event?
Yes. Through the generosity of City of Porterville, the city is providing federally funded $100 Gift Cards to community members 12 and up receiving a dose of the vaccine at the event. The gift cards are a way to reward individuals for helping to keep our community safe and at the same time help local businesses hard hit by the pandemic with a creative use of the city's American Rescue Plan Act federal funds.
• There's a lot of competing information out there about the COVID-19 vaccine, safety, and risks. Where can I go to get the latest, official info?
Great question. Please visit https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/vaccines/keythingstoknow.html
• Have more questions? Please send us a direct message and we will do our best to get you an answer!
