December 2021 Employee of the Month: Leticia Reyes

The Awards and Recognition Committee (ARC) is all about recognizing exceptional performance and employees living out our Sierra View Medical Center values. We are celebrating the employee of the month for the month of December, Phlebotomist/Lab Aide Leticia Reyes.

Leticia was nominated for the award by Laboratory Manager Laura Nielsen.

“Leticia has always been a shining star of the Laboratory,” says Laura. Leticia handles many, many sendout specimens that make their way out daily. Known for her conscientiousness, Leticia is recognized also by Quest Laboratories for the excellent work she does.

“She is willing to do whatever is requested of her and to help out wherever is needed,” says Laboratory Manager Laura Nielsen, who nominated her.

The pandemic has resulted in increased COVID-19 specimen collection and testing. Since the beginning of the pandemic, Leticia has been the main laboratory contact working directly with public health teams from the Tulare County Health & Human Services Agency. “She has come in after hours and on weekends to process the specimens and get them sent to TCHD for testing,” says Laura. And Leticia is known for doing this all maintaining a calm and collaborative demeanor. Her steadfast commitment to the laboratory services supporting patient care at the hospital and throughout the community has also been recognized by the TCHD as well as her excellent specimen handling and how easy it is to work with her.
