Local parents can feel comfortable in bringing their children in to our Community Vaccination Clinic located at 385 Pearson Dr. here in Porterville. Although getting a vaccine can be scary children and adults stopping by our clinic can expect a fun surprise this weekend because along with their vaccine they will be receiving a $100 Gift Card to a local business. The vaccination clinic operates Thursdays – Saturdays, 9 a.m. – 6 p.m. The $100 incentive is not available each week but currently will be available on September 17 and 18.
Porterville’s City Council members received federal funding from the American Rescue Plan Act earlier in the year and wanted to find ways to help stop the spread of COVID-19. Partnering with Sierra View Medical Center and Imperial Ambulance, the city is helping vaccinate community members in a way that is also helping local businesses. “The vaccine can help ensure the future of our youngest community members,” says Lawana Tate. At the same time that the city helps to ensure the health of all residents, the federal funds used as incentives are helping local businesses that were hard hit during the pandemic.
For community member Lety Morado, being able to quickly get her children vaccinated was convenient and rewarding. “It feels good and I feel safer for my kids,” says Lety.
