Our Risk Management Team Plays a Crucial Role in Patient Safety
News
Health Care Risk Management Week is June 21-25. This annual campaign from the American Society for Health Care Risk Management raises awareness about the critical role health care risk management professionals play in patient safety, patient care practices, quality assurance, safe work environments and liability concerns.
The Risk Management team at SVMC is comprised of Risk Claims Coordinator Gilda Sada and Patient Safety Registered Nurse Mallory Stone. “Throughout the pandemic, the team has continued to support clinical units by addressing patient safety concerns and helping leaders come up with effective solutions that keep staff informed and equipped to continue bringing patients high-quality, safe care,” says Lorena Camacho, Director of Quality and Patient Safety.
Vice President of Quality and Regulatory Affairs Dr. Melissa Fuentes says, “We are proud of SVMC Risk Management for leading with transparency and consistently applying the principles of Just Culture.” Melissa and Lorena lead the organization’s efforts to maintain a safe clinical environment where our community’s patients can receive the care they need when they need it most.
