2,000 Vaccines Later, Sierra View and Imperial Ambulance Have a New Centrally-Located Vaccination Clinic Home
News
Porterville, CA – July 26, 2021: Starting Saturday, July 31, 2021, the Community Vaccination Clinic currently located at Porterville Veterans Memorial Building will move to 385 Pearson Drive, Porterville, CA 93257, at the corner of the intersection between Pearson Dr. and Morton Ave.
Community members 12 years of age and older are invited to continue visiting the vaccination clinic at the Veterans Memorial Building through Friday, July 30. On Saturday, July 31, the location of the vaccination clinic will change to Pearson Dr., but the schedule will remain the same: Thursday - Saturdays, 9 a.m. - 6 p.m.
Since May 2021, more than 2,000 vaccines were administered at the Porterville Veterans Memorial Building through the SVMC-Imperial Ambulance partnership with Tulare County Health and Human Services Agency. “Now, we are prepared to take a greater lead in vaccination efforts for Southern Tulare County communities,” says Imperial Ambulance Field Supervisor Sean Roberts. “By working closely with the county, we're helping to make their resources more available to other communities with less resources,” says Roberts. SVMC-Imperial Ambulance vaccination efforts are resourced through funding from the County of Tulare.
New Centrally Located Site
Working closely with SVMC Chief Nursing Officer, Dr. Jeffery Hudson-Covolo, DNP, RN, NEA-BC, Sean is helping to launch the Community Vaccination Clinic from an equally convenient location centrally located in the city of Porterville. “The success of our vaccination efforts showed us that we needed our own dedicated space to continue offering COVID-19 vaccinations to our community,” says SVMC Chief Nursing Officer, Dr. Jeffery Hudson-Covolo. Community members can expect to be greeted by friendly Sierra View Medical Staff and be vaccinated by expert staff from both SVMC and Imperial Ambulance.
Enough to Go Around
The SVMC-Imperial Ambulance teams are also working to establish pop-up vaccination opportunities throughout the South Valley. “We have the vaccine supply to help make a difference in our community,” says Dr. Hudson-Covolo. SVMC is receiving requests for vaccinations from school districts, city officials and businesses interested in vaccinating their workforce. If interested in vaccination opportunities for groups, please contact SVMC Marketing (marketing@sierra-view.com).
Walk-Ins Still Welcome on Pearson Dr.
