Physician Family Day - Thanking Our Fearless Physicians

As we celebrate Physician Family Day, I want to acknowledge the dedication and commitment of our physicians and say thank you. Physician Family Day is a health observance proclaimed by the American Medical Association (AMA,) and the AMA Alliance as a way of promoting physician connection with colleagues, friends and family.

Throughout this pandemic, I have witnessed the tenacity and strength of our physicians pushing through on even the toughest of days. They have devoted themselves wholeheartedly to the calling of medical service and uphold the Hippocratic Oath to care for people. Every single one of our doctors in our community makes a difference in countless human lives. Because when one patient benefits from better health, the effects are felt throughout families and eventually throughout our whole community.

For every single doctor showing up to make a positive difference in Porterville and California’s South Valley, there is no doubt a family or group of friends that they turn to for guidance and support. Sometimes, that means that family may wait a little longer for doctors to come home for dinner after a long day, or missing a special date in order to be of great service to a patient in dire need of care and we recognize how challenging that may be. It is no easy task to manage a career, patient care and ever-changing pandemic care guidelines all while juggling a personal life and a family life at home. I understand the challenges our physicians face daily and my heart goes out to them.

On behalf of the Sierra View Medical Center leadership team, I wish our doctors the same health and regard for personal care that they wish upon their patients, along with their very own families and friends. We thank every physician and their families or support persons for helping them continue delivering life-changing care in the toughest of times. Thank you for everything you do, doctors. We are here for you just as you are here for us. You are the amazing doctors at the heart of every health care endeavor in Porterville.
