Spreading Cheer to Kick-Off the Holidays at Sierra View Medical Center
News
From shopping and bidding to participating in the community parade and getting into the holiday spirit by giving back, Sierra View Medical Center (SVMC) is ready for the season upon us. SVMC encourages the community in joining them as they celebrate and begin spreading holiday joy throughout the community and within the hospital.
Mini Christmas Tree Decorating Contest and Auction - November 26- 28
The Sierra View Medical Center Roger S. Good Cancer Treatment Center is holding a mini Christmas tree silent auction November 26- 28. SVMC departments and friends are participating in a decorating contest and donating mini trees (1.5 – 4 ft.) to help raise funds for the cancer treatment center. The trees will be displayed in the SVMC lobby for staff and hospital visitors to enjoy and bid on. The auction will be closing at 1 p.m. sharp on Wednesday, November 28, and winners will be notified no later than the following Friday. This newer tradition has been drumming up more competiveness over the last few years with a positive outcome of more creative trees and additional donated funds to the Roger S. Good Cancer Treatment Center. For further information on the Sierra View Medical Center Roger S. Good Cancer Treatment Center Christmas Tree Decorating Contest and Auction, contact Carol Ann Moore at 559-791-3754.

Children’s Christmas Parade - November 29
SVMC is excited to participate in the Children’s Christmas Parade on November 29, in Downtown Porterville, especially after receiving the Queen’s Trophy at the 100th Annual Veterans Day Parade. With this year’s parade theme being ‘A Starlight Christmas’ some of the SVMC staff’s smallest family members will be on the float as ‘Future Stars of Sierra View Medical Center’ and dressed up as aspiring SVMC professionals. The parade float committee has been busy in preparation and hope to add to the much anticipated community event.
Holiday Mingler - December 13
For the past 10 years, Sierra View has proudly hosted the Porterville Chamber of Commerce December Holiday Mingler. This year, along with the Porterville Chamber, the hospital invites the public to celebrate the season on December 13, from 5 – 6:30 p.m. inside the Langley, Russell, and North Palisade Conference Rooms at Sierra View Medical Center. The December Chamber Mingler is intended to bring the very people that the Porterville Chamber and SVMC serve to mix, mingle, and meet new members of the community. This year’s event will feature our Friends of Nursing Program. Mingler attendees who make a $10 donation to the featured program will receive a free Friends of Nursing Cookbook. All who attend will also have the chance to win substantial raffle prizes including a Kitchenaid Mixer. For further information or questions about the Holiday Mingler, contact the SVMC Marketing Department at 559-791-3922.
There is much to celebrate this season and SVMC intends on spreading holiday excitement around with the people they care about most, including family, friends and the residents of Porterville and surrounding areas.
