No One Dies Alone Program

Providing Comfort and Compassion in Life's Final Moments

At Sierra View Medical Center, we believe that no one should face the end of life alone. Our No One Dies Alone (NODA) program ensures a comforting presence for dying patients who would otherwise be without companionship.

NODA volunteers, under the supervision of our nursing staff, provide compassionate support to dying patients. Volunteers offer comfort by sitting with the patient, holding their hand, reading, or assisting with comfort measures as directed by the patient’s nurse. These comfort companions, including SVMC employees and community members, give their time and care to ensure no one is left alone in their final moments.

If you are interested in becoming a NODA volunteer, please complete the online volunteer application or print an application.
