Do You Need Help Paying Your Bill?

Sierra View Medical Center (SVMC) understands that medical services can be an unexpected expense. Our Patient Financial Services department is here to assist you in making bill payments, answer your billing related questions and provide options available to our patients who are uninsured or underinsured. If you are facing financial hardship, we encourage you to apply to Medi-Cal or explore other government programs that may be of assistance. If you do not qualify for those programs, or if you have substantial financial liabilities despite having insurance, you may qualify for our financial assistance program.

Who’s Eligible for Financial Assistance?​​

The Financial Assistance Program is eligible for medically necessary healthcare services provided by SVMC. Eligibility is based on financial need. Those applying with a family income at or below 400 percent of the federal poverty level (FPL) guidelines are generally eligible for 100 percent assistance. This table shows the criteria for receiving 100 percent financial assistance.

Patients who are experiencing high medical expenses compared to their income may also be eligible under high medical expenses criteria, regardless of household income.

We understand that helping you with your financial concerns is of the utmost importance and our goal is to provide you with any assistance needed. If you need help with the completion of your application, please contact our Financial Counselors at (559)788-6143 or (559)788-6002. They will be happy to answer any questions you may have about the application and can provide assistance with completion over the telephone or in person

The financial assistance/charity care application is available online by choosing one of the options below. Once SVMC has received your request we will work to complete it as soon as possible.

Our Services as a Courtesy to Our Patients:

  • Verify your insurance coverage.
  • Provide you with an estimated patient portion of charges as determined by your insurance plan.
  • Bill your primary and secondary insurance carriers as provided by you at the time of registration.
  • Answer questions from you or your insurance carrier regarding charged incurred.
  • Upon request, send your statement showing insurance payment(s). Automatically generate statements for the patient responsibility as indicated by your insurance.

Hospital Bill Complaint Program

The Hospital Bill Complaint Program is a state program, which reviews hospital decisions about whether you qualify for help paying your hospital bill. If you believe, you were wrongly denied financial assistance; you may file a complaint with the Hospital Bill Complaint Program.
