Special Considerations

Perinatal Grief & Bereavement Support

We understand how important it is to provide individualized care and support during all maternal child health life events. In addition to our routine services, please be assured that we are also knowledgeable and have additional resources to care for you during sensitive times. Our goal is to give you and your family a unique and caring experience tailored to your needs.

Adoption & Surrogacy Families

Sierra View Medical Center is not affiliated with any adoption or surrogacy agencies. However, we have experience in these areas and can help make your birthing experience special and ensure a smooth discharge process.

Safe Surrender

All hospitals, including Sierra View Medical Center, are designated Safe Surrender locations. In California, the Safely Surrendered Baby law (California Health and Safety Code, section 1255.7) provides a safe alternative for the surrender of a newborn baby in specified circumstances.

Under the Safely Surrendered Baby law, a parent or person with lawful custody can safely surrender a baby confidentially, and without fear of prosecution. Newborns can be brought to any hospital emergency room or designated safe haven within 72 hours of birth. No names are required, and the process is completely confidential.
